You’re Helping Judy Make It, Month to Month

Smiling woman looks into the camera holding eggs and groceries from the food bank.

“I only come to the food bank as needed,” Judy says. “Some months it’s weekly, some months it’s every other week.”

Judy is referring to the food bank at El Centro de la Raza, a Food Lifeline partner. She is careful to only take what she really needs because she knows there are many others like her in the community who need help to get by.

“I see hundreds of people a week go through here, and they really need it,” she says.

At 67, Judy is retired and getting by on a modest Social Security income. When asked where she’d be today without the food bank, she just shakes her head.

“I had retired and found out Social Security wasn’t going to quite cut it for me,” Judy says. “So, the food bank has been a godsend. This absolutely gets me from month to month. And the food bank really makes a difference — not just having good quality food, but it gives me room in my budget for other necessities. I would like to thank every donor who gives.”

Judy is truly grateful for you. Thank you for all you do to help feed neighbors living with hunger!
