A hands-on way to join the movement against hunger

Food & Fund Drives are a great way for schools, offices, community groups, and places of worship to join Food Lifeline in ending hunger. Drives are held year-round and are an important source of non-perishable food for the network of food programs that Food Lifeline supports.

Steps for a successful canned food drive

Decide what your food drive will look like

A competition at your work or school? A one-time collection at an event? Anytime you’re getting people together is a great time for a food drive. Be creative – it’s up to you!

Food AND funds?

Food drives can be just that – a chance to collect non-perishable food. But you can also make your drive more effective by adding fundraising. Decide if you want to hand-out collection envelopes or hold your drive virtually and then we’ll give you directions on how to collect funds.

Register your drive

Please fill out this form to let us know your drive is happening. By doing so we can prepare for your food and also give you tips on making your drive a success.

Hold your food & fund drive

Rally your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors together to bring in food and funds for families experiencing hunger. Need collection boxes? Contact us for professional, sturdy, stackable boxes.

Deliver your donation to Food Lifeline’s Hunger Solution Center

By dropping off your collected food, you maximize the value of your donation and keep our trucks on the road getting food out to hungry people. If you have collected 1,000 pounds or more and cannot deliver it yourself, you can contact us to arrange for a Food Lifeline pickup.

Note:
If you live outside the greater Seattle area, you can still host a Food & Fund Drive! Financial donations can be made to Food Lifeline via mail or online and we can work with you to find one of our member food banks in your local community where you can drop off collected food.
