What Does It Take To Make 500,000 Meals?

By June 8, 2015July 16th, 2018No Comments

Turns out you don’t need a giant oven, hundreds of chefs and a grocery list a mile long. You just need Stamp Out Hunger

On May 9th, you all joined with us in helping create the nation’s largest single day food drive. Thanks to all our 120 volunteers, the dedicated (partner & sponsor) Branch 79 letter carriers, a sponsorship from Design Laboratory, Inc, and you, Stamp Out Hunger collected enough food and funds to provide over 507,450 meals.

What’s the breakdown of food and funds?

Neighbors across the county donated 493,899 pounds in just one day. And generous donors and sponsors gave $20,360 in funds. Which means this year’s Stamp Out Hunger drive will make 513,383 meals for hungry people this year.

Want to keep helping?

Volunteers are always in high demand over our summer months. Come on in and help sort food (even some donated on Stamp Out Hunger).
