This month we are highlighting our partnership with Puget Sound Energy. For the last several years, Food Lifeline and Puget Sound Energy have partnered to help to promote energy efficiency and help end hunger at the same time. The promotions have helped us provide over 150,000 meals.
Nearly 500,000 children in Western Washington receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch during the school year. However, during the summertime, families struggle to provide the meals their children would normally get at school. In fact, low-income families spend an additional $300 per month during the summer-that’s almost $1,000 more each summer than families must scrape together for food.
That is where you and PSE step in. Now until July 30, Puget Sound Energy electricity customers can help end summer hunger.
- Purchase a Greenlite LED 2 pack at participating Ace Hardware, McClendon’s and True Value stores. For every LED purchased, Greenlite will donate .10 to Food Lifeline.
- Share all or part of a double rebate on appliances purchased at participating retailers Judd & Black Appliance, DeWaard & Bode The Appliance Giants or King and Bunnys Appliances.
