Meet New Programs Manager at North Helpline

By May 18, 2015July 16th, 2018No Comments

Tim Orth joined North Helpline in April as Programs Manager. He’s worked with North Helpline before several years ago, and most recently worked as a Development Officer at Centerstone. Please join us in welcoming him to our agency network, and learn a bit more about him.

What’s the most rewarding experience you’ve had so far in your new role?

The most rewarding part of the job for me, besides helping people in need, is the amazing staff and volunteers that I work with. Such a dedicated group of people, many of our volunteers have been with the agency for over 10 years. Also, the businesses that are so willing to donate to our food bank, and to our emergency services program. It’s a wonderful thing to have the business community pitch in, both with rotisseries and volunteers hours.

What’s the biggest challenge you’ve experienced so far in your new role?

One of the biggest challenges for me is learning all the aspects of the job. The other challenge is the constant need to keep our food bank filled with healthy foods.

What do you hope to accomplish in the next year?

I would like to continue to develop our volunteer group, continue to develop partnerships with local business to benefit the food bank, and complete a needs assessment to see where there are gaps in services provided to our clients.

Any favorite food(s) to distribute to clients?

Fresh fruits and vegetables.
