About Food Lifeline

As part of the national Feeding America network, we rescue millions of pounds of surplus food from farmers, manufacturers, grocery stores, restaurants, and retailers. We then deliver this nourishing food to nearly 300 food banks, shelters, and meal programs across Western Washington. Thanks to broad community support, we provide nutritious food to more than 800,000 individuals, families, children, and seniors every year. This, combined with our policy and advocacy work, creates a sustainable solution for ending hunger.

Food Lifeline is regularly recognized for our innovative programs, such as Grocery Rescue, Seattle’s Table, and Mobile Food Pantry which are finding new and sustainable ways to redirect surplus food to people in need.

Founded in 1979, Food Lifeline is led by a board of directors that represents our community and the food industry. Food Lifeline employs a staff of more than 90 dedicated team members, from truck drivers to food industry specialists, who all bring a passion to ending hunger to their work.

About Feeding America

Food Lifeline is a proud member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of 200 food banks that leads the fight against hunger in the United States. This relationship allows us to bring hunger-ending best practices, relationships with national food brands and food surpluses from sister agencies back to Western Washington.
