Davis Wright Tremaine Returns for Food Frenzy!

By June 23, 2022No Comments

With Food Frenzy kicking off next month, who better to recognize than Davis Wright Tremaine, our Corporate Donor of the Month for June.

For several years, Davis Wright Tremaine ran an internal employee giving campaign to raise funds for Food Lifeline.  Then in 1989, Davis Wright Tremaine Partner, Kathleen Anamosa, had the brilliant idea to challenge other law firms to also raise money for Food Lifeline to combat summer hunger, the impetus for Food Frenzy.

Fast forward 33 years, and we find Food Frenzy has grown to nearly 80 companies and includes several industry sectors including legal, construction/engineering and design, accounting, finance, technology and more, raising more than $750,000 last year, creating 3.7 million meals for kids and families experiencing summer hunger.

Davis Wright Tremaine has dominated the Food Frenzy competition, winning 1st Place Overall in our legal sector for the past 32 years.  This shouldn’t come as a surprise given their Food Frenzy campaigns are chaired by Partners in the firm.  In 2020 and 2021, undaunted by the pandemic that pushed their Food Frenzy campaign 100% virtual, Partners Jason Froggatt and Dipa Sudra broke employing giving records both years, continuing their Food Frenzy winning streak.  It’s important to point out that the firm’s dedication to ending hunger doesn’t stop there.  Davis Wright Tremaine’s support includes volunteering in the warehouse as a team and as individuals with their families, sponsoring events like Dress Down Hunger and hosting virtual food drives when our communities are in crisis.  They were also instrumental in helping us open our doors in 2016 during our Capital campaign.

Not only are they a winner in our eyes, the PSBJ recognized Davis Wright Tremaine in their annual Corporate Citizenship Book of List in 2022, ranking the firm 6th among Midsize companies, up from 9th place the previous year.  Their support in our communities touches food insecurity, stable housing/homelessness and legal representation for underserved communities.

In addition to food, funds and time in the warehouse, Davis Wright Tremaine also dedicates time to our board.  We’re excited to welcome Partner Jason Froggatt to Food Lifeline’s board.  Jason follows Managing Partner, Pete Johnson, who most recently served as a board member from 2015 to 2019. We know how precious time can be so are incredibly grateful to Jason for dedicating his time to ending hunger.  “Food insecurity is endemic in our society and it greatly impacts the outcomes of individuals and communities throughout our area.  There are a lot of great organizations that deserve support in addressing this fundamental issue.  What I love about Food Lifeline is that they are addressing immediate needs in the community and they are working hard to address the structural issues that perpetuate food insecurity so people don’t have to be hungry today and won’t have to worry about hunger in the future.” Jason Froggatt, Partner, Davis Wright Tremaine

Welcome Jason to the Food Lifeline board and thank you Davis Wright Tremaine, Food Lifeline’s June Corporate Donor of the Month.
