Corporate Donor of the Month: Slalom

By April 2, 2020No Comments

Slalom is a technology, strategy, and business management consulting firm headquartered in Seattle. They have been longtime partners of Food Lifeline, contributing hundreds of hours of volunteer service towards our mission of ending hunger. Along with their volunteer support, Slalom holds a month-long fundraiser and volunteer day of service in May. This year, however, they have moved their annual fundraiser to March and April in support of our COVID-19 response.

COVID-19 is having a profound impact in our community with school closures, loss of work and access to essential food and supplies. We know that school and business closures are necessary to keep communities healthy, but we also recognize that these closures will have disproportionate ramifications for those who already struggle to make ends meet.

Kelley Carnwath, a Consultant at Slalom and a dedicated Food Lifeline supporter says:

“One of Slalom’s core values is “Build and shape a better future.”  When you reached out to let us know you needed immediate funding to address growing expenses related to COVID 19, we quickly moved up our Food Drive to March instead of May. Like most of us in the Seattle area, we are grateful for Food Lifeline’s tireless efforts to help our neighbors and are happy to have a way to contribute to your work. It is an honor to partner with Food Lifeline as you feed people experiencing hunger today and, at the same time, solve the issue of hunger for tomorrow in Western Washington communities. We extend a big thank you to Food Lifeline and your partners for all that you do!

In partnership with Food Lifeline, Slalom – Seattle Market, Build, and Global Services is building and shaping a better future for the communities in which we live and work. Last year, Slalom’s annual fundraiser enabled over 225,000 meals for individuals experiencing food insecurity in Western Washington! This year they are on track to greatly surpass last year’s incredible achievement! Please click here to visit Slalom’s 2020 fundraising page in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Food Lifeline is tremendously grateful for Slalom’s continuous support throughout the years. We look forward to continuing to work together to show that hunger doesn’t have to happen!
