Since 1998, Food Lifeline recognizes community members through our Ending Hunger Awards. This year’s awards were presented at Dress Down Hunger on Saturday, September 24, 2016. The outstanding crew of recipients will join the Ending Hunger “Hall of Fame” of over 75 amazing Food Lifeline partners who go above and beyond their traditional role to support Food Lifeline’s mission of ending hunger.

Tom Haley Memorial Award
This award is presented to Davis Wright Tremaine LLP for their tremendous contribution to the success of Food Lifeline’s mission. Thanks to the leadership of Davis Wright Tremaine for the past 27 years, Food Frenzy—a summertime campaign to end hunger—continues to break records and provide millions of meals annually. Their partnership extends past Food Frenzy to include board participation, volunteering and much more.

Outstanding Corporate Donor
This award recognizes Ankrom Moisan Architects for their outstanding leadership in financial giving. For the past six years,
the team at Ankrom Moisan Architects has raised over $350,000 through their Food Frenzy efforts. Their support doesn’t end there, as they continue to find new and creative ways to support Food Lifeline all year long.

Outstanding Food Donor
This award is presented to Albertsons Safeway for their on-going in-kind support to Food Lifeline. With an extraordinary amount of time and effort, Albertsons Safeway started the Fresh Rescue Program, which provides thousands of pounds of fresh food to our communities that the network would not otherwise receive. The Fresh Rescue program enables all Safeway stores to donate food from all grocery categories including nutritious items like dairy, produce and meat.

Thierry Rautureau
Chef of the Year
This award recognizes Thierry Rautureau for his commitment to ending hunger through outstanding leadership in his field. Along with his seven years of service on the Board of Directors, the Chef in the Hat constantly looks for ways to raise awareness about hunger. He shares his passion by promoting Food Lifeline on his radio show and through public appearances, and named Food Lifeline his charity of choice on Top Chef Masters in 2012.
