Two Easy Ways to Tell Congress to Support Hunger Relief

By June 2, 2015July 16th, 2018No Comments

Right now, we have an important opportunity to let Congress know that our network cares ending child hunger and making it easier for donors to give food to food banks.

Two important items of our legislative agenda—Child Nutrition Reauthorization and a food donation tax deduction bill—are moving forward in Congress, and we need your help to demonstrate strong support for these priorities.

We encourage you to sign the two letters below, which outline our priorities for both bills.

  • The Child Nutrition Reauthorization Network sign-on letter urges Congress to make new investments in child nutrition programs, particularly during out of school times – after school, holidays, weekends, and summer – when our network steps up to fill the gaps.  Simply click the above link and sign your organization on to the letter.
  • The Food Donation Tax Deduction letter urges Congress to pass charitable giving tax legislation that would make it easier for farmers, ranchers, and businesses to donate food to our network.  Click the link to sign your organization on to the letter.

While the legislative process for both bills will not end here, we have a rare opportunity before us to advance our mission and we hope you’ll sign on to these important letters.
