We had an incredible evening Saturday March 25 at our annual gala, Savor, and raised over $830,000 for hunger relief. These funds come at a critical time, with inflation driving the cost of food higher just as SNAP emergency funding ends, and will make it possible for us to continue to meet that increased need.
These investments will not only help us grow our network to close the food assistance gap but will increase the sourcing of traditional and culturally relevant foods that recognize the rich history and diversity of the communities we serve. Your donations mean that Food Lifeline can continue to invest directly in programs that are driven by community leaders and inspired by the people experiencing hunger.
Everyone who spoke at the gala expressed passion and commitment for our mission to end hunger. And a new mission video shared the stories of those experiencing hunger in our region.
The gala brought together some of the region’s finest chefs, and guests were able to experience the excitement of the kitchen via live interviews with each chef as their course was served. Thank you to Chefs Mike Hillyer, Riley Starks, Bobby Moore, Danna Hwang, Michel Nischan, David Mitchell, and Bruno Feldeisen for their delicious food and commitment to our mission. And a special thank you to our friend Roy Breiman, and the entire team at the Cedarbrook Lodge for their generous support in making Savor a success.
And, thank you to all our guests for investing in our efforts that advance our mission of feeding people today while working to end hunger for tomorrow.
