Thank You for Having Lesley’s Back

Lesley knows what it means to count pennies. Retired and living on a small pension, she’s getting by — but only because of the generosity of friends like you who help supply her local food bank through Food Lifeline.

“I get a pension every month, and that’s only $421, so I get food stamps,” Lesley says. “But those run out because you’re only allowed so much.

“I’ve been coming to the food bank maybe three years, once or twice a month. It’s usually when the food stamps run out. It’s nice to know that if I don’t have any food stamps left, I can still get some food that’s healthy.”

Maintaining a healthy diet is important to Lesley, but it can also be expensive. So, she’s especially grateful for the items that come from Food Lifeline.

“It’s nice because I have to eat gluten-free, and they have it most of the time. And I eat more vegetables by coming to the food bank.”

Lesley can’t imagine her life without the food she receives through your support of Food Lifeline.

“I would go hungry,” she says. “I wouldn’t have enough food. This is the kind of place that when you need help, you just ask for help, and you don’t feel small. You’re respected. Someone’s got your back.”

Thank you for having Lesley’s back by providing nutritious food this holiday season and throughout the year!
