Food Lifeline Responds to COVID-19: Event Update

By April 3, 2020May 19th, 2020No Comments

Food Lifeline’s mission is to feed people facing hunger today and work to end hunger for tomorrow. We continue to feed our neighbors facing hunger in the throes of the COVID-19 outbreak with a firm vision to the end of the pandemic and ending hunger.

Our priority has been the health of our staff, volunteers, and neighbors who count on us. We have reduced our staffing at the Hunger Solution Center to a minimum, and have eliminated all volunteer activities and events. We plan on welcoming back our volunteers, friends, and neighbors when it is safe and look forward to celebrating with each of you.

Savor has been postponed until June 13 for a virtual gathering. The 28th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive, scheduled for May 8, 2020, has been postponed. The National Association of Letter Carriers and Food Lifeline are fully committed to rescheduling the food drive later in 2020. A new date has not yet been scheduled. We are continuing to monitor COVID-19 and stay at home orders and will adjust our plans as needed for each upcoming event.
