Food Lifeline’s Virtual Town Hall, December 8th

During the pandemic, we accomplished more as a hunger relief agency than ever before. We distributed 88.1 million pounds of food to more than 350 food pantries, meal programs, and shelters.

During these emergency response efforts we learned a lot. We learned where our efforts were most successful, and we learned where we fell short. As a result, we’ve become laser focused on how we can improve. We listened and learned that there were untapped and overlooked communities within our service areas, that communities of color were impacted by the negative effects of the pandemic at twice the rate of the general population, and we learned that it’s important to not only get food to our neighbors who need it, we need to be intentional about sourcing a wide range of quality foods including fresh produce, dairy, proteins, and culturally relevant foods that reflect the diverse backgrounds of the clients we serve.

We have come so far in our understanding and are excited to share how we’ve transferred the learnings into exciting new programs and opportunities to advance our mission to end hunger. Please join us for a Town Hall focused on what we learned and how we are moving forward together.
