With the clock ticking on tense, end-of-year budget negotiations in Congress, and a renewed state legislative session beginning in Olympia in January, now is the time to advocate for public policy that stops hunger before it happens.
On Wednesday December 15th at 12 p.m., our advocacy team is bringing together state and federal elected officials into a virtual forum to discuss opportunities to make a difference now, and in the future. Hear from State Representative Mari Leavitt, Food Lifeline President and CEO Linda Nageotte and other local officials.
With the fate of the Military Family Basic Needs Allowance hanging in the balance, and funding for free-and-reduced-cost lunch programs for low-income students still up for debate before the end of the year, we must keep the pressure up on Congress to keep supporting working families seeking emergency hunger assistance across Washington state
We can end hunger in our communities – but it’s going to take all of us, working together, to help make that happen.
Third party greater Seattle events are any fundraiser or activity undertaken by an individual, group, or organization for the purpose of raising funds for, or on behalf of, Food Lifeline. Third party fundraisers can include a variety of activities ranging from board game nights, biking parties, trivia nights, and so much more! For more information contact our event team.
