It’s been a busy few months for us at the food bank, and I know the COVID-19 pandemic has affected your life, too.
I’ve seen a drastic increase in the need for food. On a given year, nearly 800,000 families use the food bank – but with the surging need, that figure has doubled. Families have been pouring in, and sometimes it’s overwhelming when you see so much need around you.
But it’s also incredibly heartening how this community has joined together to meet the surging need. And I’m amazed that the compassion and generosity just keep coming. Now more than ever, we’re counting on your support as Food Lifeline continues to invest in our communities to support our neighbors facing hunger.
The important news is our friends at Fred Meyer have agreed to match all gifts up to a total of $50,000 to help feed families. As you read through this special COVID-19 edition of At the Table, I hope you’re encouraged by the incredible difference you make and inspired to continue your support while it can go twice as far.
