St. Vincent de Paul Longview is a food and clothing bank operating out of Longview and Cathlamet in Southwest Washington. The organization is a non-profit that operates with no paid staff and provides food free of cost to roughly 4,000 people a month across Cowlitz County and Wahkiakum County in Washington and Columbia County in Oregon. At the onset of Covid with most of their volunteer base falling into the most vulnerable categories of 65 or older, St. Vincent de Paul Longview remained committed to adapting and running safe food distributions per safety guidelines recommended by the state and CDC. This involved drive-in and walk-up distributions for the first half of the year and during the winter months with more challenging weather social distancing practices, masks, and regular sanitizing.

St. Vincent de Paul Longview partners with organizations like Food Lifeline and Lower Columbia CAP and would not be able to operate on a regular basis without the steadfast commitment of their volunteers and the generous donations from their community. Every volunteer plays an important role in the organization, with many working additional hours behind the scenes to make the food bank run.
