For Food Lifeline, last year was a big one. Not only did we move into a brand new, huge, beautiful warehouse back in April, but we crossed a huge milestone by bringing in more than 40 million pounds of food to distribute!
We have hundreds of donors and individuals to thank for their contributions, but we’d like to send a few special shout-outs to our biggest donors of the last year.
- Feeding Washington contributed a majority of our produce along with Skagit Valley Best Produce who supported our potato distributions with over 3.75 million pounds donated!
- FC Bloxom, a locally based produce company provided valuable donations three times a week.
- UNFI, Darigold, Food Services of America, Auburn Dairy Products, and Starbucks also make it into our top 10 donor list. Throughout the year, these companies have provided valuable shelf-stable products, dairy, meat, and other necessary items!
Last year, these top 10 donors alone contributed over 17 million pounds of food! That’s nearly 21 million meals! Because we create 91,000 meals every day, this means that our top 10 donors covered for 229 days out of the year. This is nothing less than amazing.
Without the commitment of these companies supporting our fight to end hunger, we couldn’t do what we do. Rescue food. Feed hungry people. Repeat.
