SUMMER TEEN LEADERSHIP PROGRAM!

Who: Any teen ages 14-18

What: The Food Lifeline Summer Teen Leadership Program is a flexible 8-week program involving teens in the core mission of Food Lifeline, and offering leadership development opportunities through community engagement, education, and advocacy.

When: Required 32 service hours can be completed within a flexible schedule at your own pace July 8th – August 30,2024.

Where: All activities will occur onsite at Food Lifeline Monday-Friday between 9:00 AM-3:30 PM.  *A schedule of detailed activities will be provided upon acceptance.

Upon completion of the program, a letter of recommendation and certificate of volunteer hours will be given.

How does it work?

Complete all 3 parts to earn 32 volunteer service hours:

Part 1

Onsite Volunteering

-EQUAL TO 20 VOLUNTEER HOURS-
  • Participate in 8 Sort & Repack sessions

AND

  • Participate in 2 administrative shifts with Food Lifeline Volunteer Coordinators

Part 2

Leadership Workshop

-EQUAL TO 2 VOLUNTEER HOURS EACH-

Attend at least 1 workshop/presentation on the following:

  • Advocacy
  • Food sustainability and environmentalism
  • Fundraising event planning
  • Community Engagement

Part 3

Learning Activities

-HOURS VARY PER ACTIVITY-

Earn additional volunteer hours through a variety of self-selected opportunities including:

  • Food Justice book club
  • Customer Service shifts with our Front Desk team
  • Take-home activities to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of food insecurity and hunger relief
  • And more!
