Today advocates for food bank funding delivered this letter to budget writers in the Washington State Legislature asking for an additional $1 million for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP) this year. Signed by more than 170 organizations and 350 individuals from throughout Washington State, this letter follows similar letters of bipartisan support from legislators last week.
The latest data shows that 1 in 6 Washington households were food insecure in 2012.
