What actions would you take as a state legislator to protect and strengthen Washington’s food security safety net, including both public nutrition programs and the food banks and food pantries serving communities across the state?

We need a complete Audit of all programs to look for Fraud Waste and Abuse.  Successful programs such as Nutrition programs will have plenty of money and will be held accountable for this resource.  I agree we need to take care of our needy and make sure they have basic needs such as food

What have you done to understand food insecurity in the communities you seek to represent—including engaging with people experiencing hunger or local hunger-relief organizations—and what policies would you prioritize to address the root causes of hunger and ensure Washington residents can afford and access the food they need?

I sell Medicare and my clients have been reduced on these programs that really help keep them healthy and eating healthy food.  This year will increase provided you have qualifying medical conditions.  It looks like people will be cut more because they don’t have all the medical conditions.  I have volunteered at food banks and given out food.  People don’t get enough food at these food banks but are very happy with what they do get to help them out for the next two weeks.  I believe we will find a lot of fraud in these programs and catching that will give us plenty of money to increase these successful programs.  It’s sad to see all the money going to people that dont need help.

What policies or investments would you support to strengthen Washington’s food system, increase access to locally produced food, support Washington farmers and producers, and reduce food waste?

We waste to much food.  I will support programs that will help farmers out with their extra crops to provide for those in need.  We have to stop wasting food when people need.
