Guides for finding free food

Seattle Farmers Markets

Seattle Farmers Markets have a temporary emergency relief fund called the Good Neighbor Fund. If you are a SNAP Shopper, show your card to staff at the manager tent and receive $20 in Farm Bucks to spend at Seattle Farmers Markets, including Harvest and Holiday Markets. See their website for harvest and holiday markets and additional resources.

New Pilot Program: SNAP Produce Rewards

The Department of Health and Department of Social and Health Services are testing a new pilot program to make buying fruits and vegetables even easier for people who use Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in Washington. Shoppers who use SNAP benefits to buy allowable fruits and vegetables from participating pilot retailers can get up to $50 per month put back onto their SNAP EBT card.  The pilot is available through participating retailers only. A list of participating locations is near the bottom of the SNAP Produce Rewards webpage.

Note: You need money on a SNAP card to use this benefit, but the money is immediately refunded back to the card.
