You Gave Diana Food to Fuel Her Studies
Diana is the kind of student teachers love. She’s hard-working, dedicated to her studies, and always tries her best. So, it’s no surprise she latched on to the Homework Help Program at Seattle’s Lake City Library.
During her senior year of high school, Diana spent every afternoon, Monday through Thursday, participating in the program. She received help from volunteer tutors and helped some of the younger kids with their homework. And she always appreciated the late-afternoon snacks made possible by friends like you.
Diana says the snacks — including fruits, vegetables, and trail mix — are important because many of the kids may not have adequate food at home. And as a self-proclaimed overachiever, she says, “The snacks helped a lot because sometimes I would skip lunch to do homework.”
This fall, as Diana begins her college career, she’s thankful for the generosity supporters like you have shown.
“Thank you for making the snacks available to students, because this really keeps them going,” she says.
Your continued support today will go twice as far to help more kids like Diana.
