Today advocates for food bank funding delivered this letter to budget writers in the Washington State Legislature asking for an additional $1 million for the Emergency Food Assistance Program (EFAP) this year. Signed by more than 170 organizations and 350 individuals from throughout Washington State, this letter follows similar letters of bipartisan support from legislators last week.

Food Lifeline would like to thank Senator Brian Hatfield and Representative Brian Blake for crafting letters of bipartisan support for the important work of food banks. These two letters were signed by the 45 legislators below and outline the record need facing food banks throughout our state and the importance of these additional funds this year – adding $1 million could leverage up to 3 million additional meals in the next year!
