Grateful Dad Says, “You’re Saving Lives”
Life was already challenging for Anthony and Katie. Their two boys, ages 3 and 7, were each battling health issues, which meant medical bills. And with Katie being a full-time student, Anthony was the sole breadwinner. So, imagine their shock when he sustained an injury that left him unable to work and required spinal surgery.
Thankfully, because caring people like you support Food Lifeline, feeding their children is one less thing Anthony and Katie have to worry about during this difficult time.
“This is what we survive off of right now,” says Anthony. “We get food stamps, but they can only go so far.”
While Anthony is undergoing physical therapy, the family is extremely grateful for the variety of food available to them, especially the fresh produce, which includes cabbage, potatoes, broccoli, bananas, plums, and apples.
“We love our veggies and fruit,” Anthony says. “That’s one of the best things we love here. And the quality of the food is like shopping at the grocery store.”
Anthony and Katie couldn’t be more thankful for the help they’re receiving — and for generous people like you who keep food coming their way. “You’re saving lives,” Anthony says. “You’re making a difference.”
