Corporate Donor of the Month: Prologis
Food Lifeline is grateful to highlight Prologis as our December Corporate Donor of the Month!
Prologis is the global leader in logistics real estate. Every day, Prologis sees many of the goods that make modern life possible flow through its distribution centers, which in turn underscores the interconnected nature of global trade. Through its Space for Good program, the company has offered unoccupied buildings and yard space for Covid-19 relief efforts to government agencies, hospitals, and relief organizations throughout the world. To date, Prologis has donated 1.5 million square feet in 15 markets and $5.9 million in in-kind rent.
When the Covid-19 pandemic hit Washington, Food Lifeline needed to secure a second, temporary warehouse to store hundreds of thousands of pounds of food. These large food procurements were then re-packed into emergency food boxes with the help of civilian volunteers and the Washington National Guard and distributed to members of our community who needed them.
“As the country and Washington State work to respond to the pandemic, Prologis is proud to support organizations like Food Lifeline, which is on the frontlines of addressing food insecurity,” said Prologis chief legal officer and ESG head Edward S. Nekritz. “Through our Space for Good program, we are in a unique position to assist to assist those in need and strengthen communities.”
We would like to extend a grateful thank you to Prologis for your tremendous support of Food Lifeline’s Covid-19 emergency response work!
