Celebrating MLK Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is one of our favorite events at Food Lifeline, a day where community comes together to celebrate the legacy and spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.

This year, the warehouse buzzed with energy as over 100 volunteers joined us for special repack sessions, including Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal and her team. We also had teams from Milliman, Delta Dental, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, along with dozens of families, individuals, and local community groups.

“Why should there be hunger and deprivation in any land, in any city, when man has the resources and scientific know-how to provide all mankind with the basic necessities of life? There is no deficit in human resources, the deficit is in human will.” – Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Thanks to everyone who helped make the day such a positive and impactful day: Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Milliman, Team Hayden, Delta Dental, and all the volunteers who came out to spend their MLK day in service to their community. And a shoutout to our talented Volunteer Engagement and Volunteer Production Teams, as well as Aaron Czyzewski, Director of Advocacy and Policy.

Working together, big change is possible.
