Boeing Donates $1,000,000 to Kids Cafe

Boeing announced an unprecedented $1 million gift to Food Lifeline’s Kids Cafe in August. Stemming from a long-time desire to make sure kids in Western Washington grow up healthy and strong, this gift from Boeing will help Kids Cafe feed five times as many kids over the coming years.

“We are so grateful for Boeing’s recognition of Food Lifeline as the smartest place to put their dollars to help end childhood hunger,” Linda Nageotte, President & CEO of Food Lifeline.

Since Kids Cafe started in 2012, Food Lifeline has provided more than 47,700 snacks and meals across 5 counties and 10 communities. “By investing in the Kids Cafe program, we hope to play a key role in reducing childhood hunger in the neighborhoods that I and all our employees care so deeply about,” said Boeing Commercial Airplanes President & CEO Ray Conner.

With this generous donation from Boeing, we look forward to expanding this program to reach even more low-income communities and kids that need extra nourishment the most.

“Food Lifeline has changed the way I think about food. The combination of vegetables, fruit, grains and protein help us have healthy lifestyles and the ability to be successful at school and life. It is also great having free healthy food right at the club. I have lost weight after starting to eat from Food Lifeline; I also have taken on more homework at school. Food Lifeline has built up my confidence in school and I am to do so much more than I was before.”
