Join Us for a Conversation About Food Security with State Representative Kristine Reeves 

We invite you to take part in an important and interactive discussion with State Rep. Kristine Reeves as she shares her vision for a statewide strategy to address food security. This is a unique opportunity to hear directly from Rep. Reeves about her proposed legislation, what it aims to accomplish, and how it could impact communities across Washington. 

This session will be conversational and inclusive—your questions, insights, and feedback are welcome and encouraged. Whether you’re deeply involved in food systems or simply passionate about ensuring access to nutritious food for all, your voice matters in shaping this strategy. 

The event will be held at Food Lifeline on September 25 at 11 AM to noon.  

As Chair of the House Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee and sponsor of HB 1987, the Statewide Food Security Strategy, Representative Kristine Reeves is a driving force in the fight against hunger in Washington. A recognized hunger champion and systems thinker, her leadership is shaping the development of a comprehensive statewide strategy to address food insecurity. 

Rep. Reeves is helping to focus legislative attention on the impacts of recent SNAP cuts and is expected to lead multiple food security initiatives in the upcoming 2026 legislative session. Her work is laying the foundation for long-term, systemic solutions that prioritize equity, access, and resilience in Washington’s food systems.
