A Bite Out of Hunger
Take a Bite Out of Hunger: That’s the goal of a donation campaign sponsored by FirstFruits Marketing of Washington and Charlie’s Produce.
Food Lifeline, a longtime partner of Metropolitan Market and Charlie’s Produce, was the recipient of this generous apple donation. Charlie’s Produce supplies produce to Metropolitan Markets and through the Take a Bite Out of Hunger campaign donated 471 cases of fresh Washington Apples: 20,813 pounds in all!
FirstFruits Marketing created the “Take a Bite Out of Hunger campaign to help feed underserved people while bringing attention to the problem of food insecurity in the US”.
This is the fourth year Charlie’s Produce has partnered with FirstFruits to participate in Take a Bite out of Hunger. Ron Short from Charlie’s Produce is “appreciative of First Fruit for making this [donation] possible”. And so is Food Lifeline!
Metropolitan Market makes daily donations to Food Lifeline through the Grocery Rescue program. “We value our long-standing relationship [with Food Lifelne] and are thrilled to be able to provide a donation of this size and help so many people,” said Cameron Ito, Marketing Director at Metropolitan Market. Metropolitan Market has a long history of giving back to the community and Food Lifeline is excited to grow the partnership as we work to end hunger in Western Washington!
Thank you FirstFruits Marketing, Charlie’s Produce, and Metropolitan Market! Your donation of fresh apples is proving that hunger doesn’t have to happen!
