Roger Garratt

Roger Garratt was born and raised in a Nebraska in the middle of farm country, and with direct family ties to farming.   He has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from Union College in Schenectady, NY. 

At Puget Sound Energy, Roger is responsible for acquiring new electric generation supplies and leading the company's exploration of emerging generation technologies, developing a liquefied natural gas facility at the Port of Tacoma which is designed to enhance the reliability of the regional gas distribution system as well as provide clean natural gas fuel to marine and other transportation markets, and guiding the company’s plan toward a cleaner energy future. Since joining PSE in April 2003, Roger's team has acquired over 2 GW of new generation valued at over $2 billion, including three wind projects, the development of the region's largest solar project, and four gas-fired combined-cycle projects. Roger is committed to community service. 

He serves on the Advisory Board for the Electrical Engineering program at the University of Washington-Bothell; held numerous positions at the congregational church where he has been a member for nearly 20 years, including chairing the Stewardship and Finance Board for the past seven years; and has represented PSE as a sponsor and judge at the University of Washington’s Environmental Innovation Challenge for the past four years.
