A less expensive source of protein, eggs are always in high demand in our network of food banks, shelters, and meal programs. And you can probably understand why when you think about all the ways eggs can be used to create tasty nutritious food. In this edition of A Company Who Cares, we are featuring Nest Best Eggs, a long time food supplier to Food Lifeline, located right here in the Pacific Northwest.

“Their product is amazing,” says Food Lifeline’s Director of Food Resources Amythst Shipman. “Not only are Nest Best eggs fresh and nutritious, but they’re free of antibiotics, and most are produced locally.”

But Nest Best is more than just a supplier; the company goes above and beyond with their commitment to ending hunger. Since 2010, the company has provided us with more than 47,000 pounds of donated product! This food had been a key component in creating the 4.6 million meals we provided last year alone. Nest Best is also going the “egg-stra” mile by working carton manufacturers to ensure we’re getting the lowest cost on packaging as well.

If your company would like to join in the fight against hunger, you can contact a Food Lifeline Food Resources representative at 206-856-5347 or go to www.foodlifeline.org/foodindustry.
