Washington National Guard Steps Up

By July 20, 2020No Comments

Added safety measures amid the COVID-19 pandemic left Food Lifeline with a massive shortage of volunteers at a time when we needed them most.

Thankfully, members of our Washington Army and Air National Guard stepped up during this time of need.

Some 250 men and women filled our new emergency response center to sort, package, and distribute food, answering the call to help our neighbors during this unprecedented crisis.

“Our folks here are just happy serve,” says Joe Siemandel, a public affairs officer with the Washington National Guard. ‘That’s what we’re here for is to help our neighbors.”

Our National Guardsmen aren’t the only people stepping up to help. Your generous support has also been a big help during this unprecedented time. Thank you! I hope we can count on you again now while your gift will go twice as far.
