Starbucks Partners Log 250 Volunteer Hours for “Global Month of Good”

Local Starbucks partners (employees) lent their hands and hearts to Food Lifeline last month as part of the company’s Global Month of Good.” During April, 125 Starbucks volunteers helped sort more than 50,000 pounds of food for Food Lifeline’s nearly 300 food bank partners.

During the month, the volunteers formed nine different teams and logged 250 hours of sorting and repacking frozen food, potatoes, apples, crackers, and pinto beans.

It’s an annual event that Starbucks partners say they enjoy.

“My volunteering at Food Lifeline was a great experience! I was happy to be offered the chance to volunteer with my coworkers at Starbucks.  I enjoyed working as a team outside the office, and we could make an impact on our community.  With the instructions, it was easy to work, and I would love to be back to help at another time.”

Community partnerships like this are critical in Food Lifeline’s efforts to ensure that everyone has access to healthy and nutritious food. Thanks to the hard work of the Starbucks teams, this food will reach thousands of individuals, families, and seniors served by Food Lifeline’s nearly 300 food bank partners across Western Washington.

Thank you, Starbucks!
