Starbucks Partners Help Create Nearly 50,000 Meals During “Global Month of Good”

The energy was high and the impact even higher when Starbucks partners (employees) rolled up their sleeves for this year’s Global Month of Good. Starbucks employees once again showed up in a big way, bringing both heart and hustle to support Food Lifeline.

Throughout April, 118 dedicated volunteers came together to sort and repack 58,600 pounds of food—enough to help create nearly 50,000 meals for neighbors across Western Washington. Working in seven teams and contributing 236 hours, they helped sort oranges, rice, pinto beans, cookie mix, as well as labeling frozen soup throughout the month.

“Spending time at Food Lifeline during Global Month of Good was such a powerful reminder of how showing up together can truly make a difference. Seeing how donated food turns into support for communities across Washington really reflects Starbucks commitment to caring for people and the places we serve.”

“Volunteering with Food Lifeline was a meaningful experience for our Starbucks partners and for me personally. It was a powerful reminder to see how just a few hours of hands-on work can have a real impact for families in our community, and it reinforced how meaningful our partnership is when we show up together.”

This annual tradition is more than just a volunteer event—it’s a reflection of a shared commitment to community, especially when Partner Networks (Employee Resource Groups) get involved.

“The partnership between the Starbucks Black Partner Network and Food Lifeline reflects what’s possible when we come together with purpose—addressing food insecurity while uplifting and strengthening the communities we serve. We are grateful for the welcoming community at Food Lifeline and excited about future volunteer events.”

Starbucks partners who volunteer with Food Lifeline consistently say it’s one of the most meaningful ways they give back, and it shows in the enthusiasm they bring each year.

“Starbucks partner volunteers are essential in helping us meet the needs of our community,” said Leeann Huntington, Food Lifeline Corporate Relations Manager. “Their commitment creates a meaningful, lasting impact for our neighbors.”

Partnerships like this play a vital role in ensuring everyone has access to healthy, nutritious food. Thanks to the incredible efforts of these volunteers, thousands of individuals, families, and seniors served through Food Lifeline’s network of more than 300 food bank partners will benefit.

To the Starbucks team: thank you for turning compassion into action and making a real difference in your hometown state.
