More than Houses – Blue Fern Builds Communities
We’re proud to announce that we’re renewing our partnership with Blue Fern Homes, who helped to provide nearly 500,000 meals to support our neighbors experiencing hunger.
One of Blue Fern’s core values is building strong communities. They’re currently building and selling homes in two new local communities, including Towns on 7th in Issaquah, and Salmon Creek Townhomes in the White Center neighborhood. When someone purchases a Blue Fern home, Blue Fern will be contributing a portion of the sale to Food Lifeline to support 50 families visiting local food banks.
Blue Fern joined us this summer, where 30 volunteers helped to sort and repack 3,000 pounds of peas.
“We loved hosting Blue Fern and their industry partners in the warehouse,” said Leeann Huntington, Food Lifeline Corporate Relations Manager. “Not only seeing, but being a part of the work we do, demonstrates the importance of our work and more importantly, the impact in our communities.”
“We look forward to hosting the Blue Fern Homes team in the warehouse again soon and throughout the year.”
“Blue Fern Homes is all about building community and helping people live better. Our partnership with Food Lifeline enables us to turn that commitment into real impact for our neighbors.”
– Ben Paulus, CEO and Founder of Blue Fern Homes
This November, Blue Fern opened their Sales Center at their Salmon Creek model home and have set up a food drive donation box where they are collecting food to support individuals and families during the holidays, so everyone can gather around the table and enjoy a meal with friends and family this time of year.
Since the Salmon Creek community are neighbors to our South Park warehouse, we’re looking forward to inviting them to come down to the warehouse to volunteer with us.
Thank you to Blue Fern Homes for their support in building and strengthening our communities, and for helping to advance our work by sharing our mission with new homeowners across Western Washington.
