Food Lifeline Mobilizes Emergency Shipment to 2nd Harvest Amid Eastern Washington Wildfires

We shipped emergency supplies to 2nd Harvest in Spokane this week to aid with recovery efforts following the devastating wildfires in the Spokane area.

As a designated Feeding America disaster response staging location, we have disaster relief supplies prepared for immediate deployment, including bottled water, shelf-stable milk, crackers, and cleaning kits to support individuals and families affected by evacuations and displacement. This enabled us to mobilize resources quickly and get supplies out to the Spokane communities impacted by the fires within days.

The wildfires started August 2 in the Spokane region, prompting the evacuation of approximately 65,000 residents, disrupting lives and creating urgent needs for food, water, and essential supplies. At least 900 structures were destroyed by the fires.

We are working closely with 2nd Harvest and Feeding America to assess evolving community needs and coordinate relief efforts. Second Harvest has been running mobile markets in the Spokane area to provide food to people impacted by the fires.

We remain committed to supporting both immediate relief efforts and longer-term recovery needs, recognizing that the impact of disasters often extends well beyond the initial emergency.
