Food Lifeline and Gesa Credit Union are partnering once again for Hunger Action Month
During the month of September, food banks across the United States will encourage neighbors to take action against hunger. From volunteering, hosting food drives, donating money, and messaging legislators, everyone can take action.
Gesa Credit Union will be encouraging members to get involved during Hunger Action Month by collecting shelf stable food at their branches and inviting members to donate funds which will be matched dollar for dollar up to $25,000. Members can also learn more about volunteering at Food Lifeline’s warehouse while visiting the 7 Western Washington branches.
“Gesa is incredibly proud to partner with Food Lifeline and Second Harvest again this year for Hunger Action Month. Our ongoing collaboration is about more than just providing meals—it’s about giving hope and a sense of security to those who need it most,” said Brandon Allison, AVP of Training, Education and Community Outreach at Gesa Credit Union. “Hunger is a devastating issue that affects many across our region, which is why we are committed to spreading awareness and ensuring our efforts reach more people each year. We look forward to continuing this important work alongside our partners, one meal at a time.”
In addition to promoting to members the many ways they can support Hunger Action Month, Gesa employees will be volunteering with us on Hunger Action Day, September 10, 2024. In 2023, Gesa employees donated 136 hours, sorting and repacking food in the Hunger Solution Center, prepping it for distribution through our network of 296 agency partners.
Thank you Gesa Credit Union for your ongoing support of our work and for leading by example. When everyone takes action against hunger, we move that much closer to ending hunger in our communities.
