Food Lifeline, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending hunger in Western Washington, is hiring full-time, temporary FoodShare Program Drivers to join our team.
FoodShare Program Drivers will operate vehicles in a safe manner, collect food donations from locations along a route, inspect, count and verify product, and ultimately, deliver it to feeding programs that benefit hungry people. FoodShare Program Drivers will also maintain vehicle logs, product documentation, and provide support to a variety of warehouse functions when not on route.
This is a great fit for someone looking for overnight and potentially weekend work. FoodShare Program Drivers will work four 10 hour shifts starting as early as 8:00pm. Drivers are cross-trained on multiple routes to ensure coverage for vacations and absences.
High school diploma or GED.
Experience driving professionally and transporting food is helpful but not required.
Valid Washington State Driver's License required with a good insurable driving record.
Must possess Washington State Food Handler's permit or be able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to safely operate a forklift and pallet-jack.
Ability to work 10 hour shifts.
Ability to pass a pre-hire drug test and ongoing random drug screening.
