Local Brewing Company Offers to Feed Hungry Children

Full Sail Brewing Company's participation with Albertson's stores aims to feed school children during summer months

Shoreline, WA, May 30, 2008 - Every day during the months of June and July, Full Sail Brewery will donate $1.00 per case of beer sold in all Albertsons stores to Food Lifeline, the western Washington affiliate of America's Second Harvest. This will provide five meals to hungry children in Western Washington per donation. This is the third year that Full Sail is offering this promotion through Albertson's grocery stores in the Northwest.

Full Sail Brewery chose the summer months in particular to support Food Lifeline, as this is the time of year when children are no longer enrolled in school programs that give access to free and low-cost meal programs. Many of these children have no other method of being fed, and often go hungry. As the summer is also the top season for profit for the Brewery, it presents as a natural solution.

"There are about 75,000 children in western Washington who depend on the school meal programs to be fed. The summer months are a critical time for us to reach these children and ensure they do not go hungry," said Linda Nageotte, President and CEO of Food Lifeline. "We are so pleased that Full Sail has seen this need and has stepped up to help fill the gap with food or our children."

Lloyd Hammel, an owner of Full Sail Brewing Company, says "This is a perfect opportunity for the public to support local craft beers, to support local food banks, and to support Albertson's." This year, there is 100% participation in all Albertson's stores across the Northwest. Because of the success in previous years, Full Sail has increased its support from donating $0.50 per case up to $1.00, hoping to further increase the amount given to feed local children.
